Bit of a mess this one, one of the output capacitors had leaked all over, and soaked into, the pcb. Not simply a job of cleaning up the electrolyte and hoping it will be ok because it’s a conductive material and that would be a disaster. First of all I wasn’t sure I could repair it at all as the damaged area was quite widespread, secondly it had triple layer print which was going to complicate things. In the end I was able to remove all the affected pcb and remount the new components (output capacitors and rectifier diodes) safely. It would have been a shame to bin it for something so silly as once up and running, it sounded fantastic.
