Orange Rockerverb 50 Mkll Repair

On the bench today, a classy Orange guitar amp, the fault reported was the reverb not working and one of the foot switches also not working. Stripping the amp down I thought I’d cracked it straight away as one of the connections into the reverb tank was broken, “easy” I thought but it wasn’t to be as there was still no reverb. Thanks to a handy link to the service manual, kindly supplied by the amps owner, I was able to trace the fault to the reverb drive transformer, the solder tags on the secondary winding were so badly corroded it was reading open circuit, luckily I was able to remove the tiny wires coming out of the transformer, add some fresh solder and reattach them. That sorted the reverb out and now it was on to the foot switch, one of the switches had a high resistance across the contacts so I dismantled it, cleaned the contacts and reassembled…all working now.
