This one dated from the early 70’s and was brought in with a Thorens turntable. The turntable needed a new drive belt and a cartridge, the receiver was a little more demanding. It was only working on one channel, the output transistors were fine, the problem lay in the pre amp. A few minutes with an oscilloscope revealed two faulty pre amp transistors, unbelievably both were still available and when fitted the amp sounded superb.
Another delighted old gent who thought his pride and joy would never work again!
